Epicor - moving from 9.05.607b to 9.05.700c

Wow, you are having some real issues. Ours are not nearly as bad. More of an inconvenience than issues causing all the things you mentioned below. I wish I could help you with any of it. But I just don't have the skills. Working with support is painful. Good luck with it. Let me know if you just want to discuss at any time. I can listen. Have a good weekend!

We keep having null acctno records created in glacct and in tranglc, which seem to prevent us from being able to add a new gl acct. We have have to request datafix twice to get us back in position to add gl acct. I do not know what is causing the nulls, but I suspect some workflow on PO release "get acct" might be culprit for tranglc. We also had some issues when duplicate PO was done, but I think we squelched that problem.

Now yesterday, month closing activities, we have a ton of review journal transactions in error log with "tranglc duplicate found. posting process aborted to prevent duplicate posting. please contact customer support to request the fix program." and a call into support asking what's going on...

and to top it off this morning, our AP clerk can't see her edit lists reports for her batches that she has been creating until the error on top gets fixed. It looks to be sending most of the data out, but something must be missing causing report to choke (standard as well as our custom one)

ugh! thanks for listening :)

Just a thought...do a test upgrade first. It will allow you to see your
specific issues during the upgrade process without impacting your live
environment.

This is a major upgrade and I would not recommend just going with it on the
fly.

Because you are going from .600 level to .700 level, there is a schema
change involved, this is a major change and will affect a lot of your
system, especially with reports.

All updates, especially ones like this, should always be run on a test
environment before applying to a live environment.

I may be chiming in too late on this one, but I wouldn't DREAM of going from even 9.05.700B to 9.05.700C without testing it... far too much is at stake. On an in-place upgrade like you're probably going to do, there really isn't any turning back (unless you have an image of your server from before the debacle).

You can always turn back from any update.

All you need is a complete copy of your Epicor905 folder and a backup of
your database from before the update.

Put both back into place and you are good to go, I have done that dozens of
times.

Hi Mary,

Did you proceed successfully with your planned upgrade from 9.05.607b to 9.05.700c? We are having quite a few financial errors that I noticed you were experiencing as well, based on your posts, with 905607b. Have you seen any relief thanks to upgrading?

Thanks for your consideration,
Nancy

Hi Nancy,

We have not been able to upgrade yet because we can't get an answer from Epicor on whether our customization will be affected or not. And if it is, they will want more money to make it work with the new patch. What kinds of issues are you having?

Mary
