Epicor SAAS (Express) vs. Vantage 8/Epicor 9

And at one point the engineering workbench did not function properly....but they could have fixed that by now.

The express product (or Saas) is the same product, so if you have experience with Vantage administering the express product for Epicor 9 will be similar. The big difference in the SaaS model is you will not have certain features, so for instance, if your company uses the product configurator you will not be abe to use the express product as it does not support the configurator

How different are the products?
Are the same basic concepts behind Vantage 8 or Epicor 9 in the Express product?
I am asking to see if a person with experience administering the Express product will have a good start with moving to the 8 or 9 product.
Thanks for your advice.
