Error 1432 - On and off Vantage Topic

If I try telnet to any port on the new server from a problem PC, always the
message Connect Failed! Hostname: newserver appears. We are using WINS and
DHCP.

Look at your Services file and or your hosts file. Services is in
C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\Services Hosts is in
C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\hosts for win2k.

This is more of a Windows issue than Vantage I believe. Any advice is
appreciated. I have brought up a new machine for Vantage. The setup is
the
same as the current machine. Now I am going through the process of
testing
the connection to the new database. To do so, I am just changing the
mapping of the V drive to point to newserver\epic50. On some of the
machines however, I receive Error 1432 Couldnt not connect to server for
database... Other machines connect fine. I followed the instructions on
page: 465MPS Summary: XA Trouble shooting the 1432 error. When trying to
telnet from a problem PC, I get a Connect Failed! Hostname: newserver.
This
problem exists on both Win 2k Pros, and NT 4.0's. I removed the TCP/IP
from
the client, added back, and reapplied the service pack. Same issue
exists.
And, as I said, other machines connect just fine. I can ping the
newserver
from the misbehaved clients, and it does resolve the IP address. I can do
a
Net Use as well to map a drive as well. Any advice where to look next?

Thank You.
