Troy,
I have had similar problems between crystal 8.5 and vantage 5.0. I found
that the crpe32.dll used by crystal is not the same as the crpe32 used by
vantage. Different revs. "DON'T SWAP THEM" like tech support might
suggest. If you do vantage print previews and print functions get all
messed up. I fouund saving my crystal 8.5 files as version 7.0 works ok.

Subject: [Vantage] Re: Error 599 on Print Preview
Troy,
I just made a change to our quote and am now getting the same error.
I have also tried the unregocx and vdllcopy without success. Here's
our scenario: I opened our standard Crystal quote form and added an
field that isn't included in the temp files that are created on the
client when this is run. To do that, I used ODBC (Merant driver) and
chose my field from the complete table listing.
The strange thing is, I can preview the report just fine while
working in Crystal. I only get the error when running it in
Vantage. We've been sent two other dll files (prosql32.dll and
p2bxpse.dll) to try and they didn't work either. Tech support also
says switching formula syntax from Crystal to Basic might help. Ours
isn't a formula, so we can't use that suggestion, but if the field(s)
you added is a formula I'd give it a shot.
I'm going to keep digging and I'll post a solution if I find one.
Let me know if you have any luck in eliminating the error.

form, did a Purchase Order Prievew, and the form showed up fine with
the current modifications. I went on to finish the modification and
now when I Preview the Purchase Order, I get the "Error 599". EraNet
says to unregocx and the recopy the dll's, which I did. No change.
