Error accessing the database: SQL Server encountered error 0x8007042d

We receive the following error code when attempting to use the Part Search box titled “Where Part Description Contains” to search for a part by description;

“Error accessing the database: SQL Server encountered error 0x8007042d while communicating with full-text filter daemon host (FDHost) process. Make sure that the FDHost process is running. To re-start the FDHost process, run the sp_fulltext_service ‘restart_all_fdhosts’ command or restart the SQL Server instance”

It seems to me to be possibly a corrupted database file or faulty install/uninstall? Any suggestions on how to go about finding the root of this issue? Has anybody experienced this before?

Have you restarted the SQL server instance? If you right-click on the name of the instance in SSMS, you can select Restart.

NOTE that doing this with users in the system is not advised so it should only be completed during a planned maintenance window.
