Wondering if anyone has run into a message when trying to change information in the customer record using DMT. The message we are getting is: This company not licensed to be the parent of a Global Customer.
We can manually uncheck the Global checkbox on the customer but we can’t change it to FALSE using DMT.
We were trying to update the territory and salesperson when we first got the message. This company used to have multi-company licensed but has unlicensed it since. As I said, we can make the changes manually but can’t do it with DMT. We have nearly 6,000 records to update, so doing it manually would take a lot of time.
You’ll probably still need to UNLINK the customer from its global parent… but I don’t have an environment nearby at the moment to test that in. In Classic, there is a “Link Customer” selection on the Actions menu in Customer Entry, and from within there somewhere there’s an Unlink option. You may need to do that from the ORIGINAL owning company.
I do see that in customer, but the problem is that there are nearly 6,000 customers that have Global checkbox checked. It would take a lot of effort to manually correct all of these.
Try it manually on one customer record. Nail down the process, and then follow @Hally’s advice and automate it.
There’s also a DMT template for “Global Customer Link” that probably has to be run from the Owner company… try that for one customer also and see if that can help.
