Error message with Order Entry

No WAY a Vantage error message was that short! :)

Sounds like you have set up a numeric field, with a mask of say >>>,>>>,nnn.nn but, either in code or in the properties window of the numeric input field, indicated it is and Integer (or vice-versa more likely).

You could scan the XML export of the customization - but would likely go blind before recognizing the error conditions you inadvertently set up.

In customization mode, just expand the screen layout/control tree and check you (C) prefaced added custom controls one at a time until you find one with a mismatch set up as described above.

Also check that data defintions (on the related table.fields) as you go as you may be bringing inherently decimal valued field values into a control set to Integer.

I'm surprised the message didn't tell you specifically what object (likely on of your custom added controls) the error relates to. (I don't think I've ever seen an error message that DIDN'T if you read completely through it.)

We are getting an error message when we open order entry. I believe

this stems from a customization we did awhile ago. We have been getting

this for awhile and nobody as really done anything about it.

Here is the message:

The following application error was encountered:

The NumericType property cannot be set to a value that conflicts with

the current value of the MaskInput property.

I tried to do some investigating on my own, but didnt find where the

mask input property was located.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad

It looks like one of your number fields has a mask that does not match its
type. Probably, in its properties, it is listed as an Integer but has a
mask that includes decimal places. This results in an error. While in the
customization, click on your number field that has the error. Look at the
property fields "MaskInput" and "NumericType." Either fix your mask so that
it does not have any decimal points in it, or change the NumericType to be
Double. Either option should work, it just depends on what you want your
field to show.

Hope this helps

Daniel

Thats what i figured, however, we do not have the MaskInput or the
NumericType field in the properties, unless i'm looking in the wrong
spot.

The "NumericEditor" fields have those properties, and they look exactly like normal text boxes
by default it puts ned in front of the new field, like "nedNetWeight" might be the name of a field.
In the "Customization Tools" dialog for the form, run down the tree-list on left side until you find the object that is a NumericEditor and has that property.
