Error When Executing Office MES through Vantage 8.3 Data Collect

I'm not sure the exact mechanism so you can try the link in the other
direction selecting the userid in the Employee maintenance. BTW, did you
save the user record and restart Vantage before trying to clock in?

Since we moved from 6.1 to 8.3, we have been unable to access Office MES through the Vantage 8.3 Menu system. We had no problem with 6.1 using this feature. The path in the structure is Production Management-Data Collection-General Operations-Office MES. The error message that comes up is "No Employee attached to User Tom Peat".

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
First of all, you should know that the Office MES program has different intent from Ver 6 to Ver 8. With Ver 6, you were able to do MES functions from the office using the full version for any employee. Now, Office MES is only for the logged on Vantage user to clock in and out. No other employee's time can be manipulated using Office MES. If you want to do this, it means you need to have another license of MES in the office (e.g. supervisors) if you want to have the ability you had with Ver 6 Office MES program. I'm not sure why Epicor changed this intent, maybe a scheme to sell more MES licenses.

Then the second issue for the error message you are seeing is that you need to link the user to employee. This is done in User Maintenance-->Company-->Detail where you need to Add New Company from the new new menu icon drop down, select the company, the employee, and authorized plant.
