Executive Dashboards?

Sorry, Lynn, I was thinking of something different.

I don't have experience of Executive Dashboards - never had reason to look at them - so can't offer you any assistance.

Nigel.

I've been playing with them some the last couple of days, and I _think_ I know what I want to do, but the help, and the Tools Guide, are a little thin in some vital areas. Specifically, how does one put multiple BAQs on the same cube? The Tools guide says it can be done but neglects to say how to do the second [or subsequent]one. The Executive Query form only allows one BAQ per query... I'd try the Epicor website, but at the moment we're not on maintenance.

Hi Lynn,

I believe that you have to have SonicMQ installed in order for the BAQ to copy over to your other companies and maybe to send the results back.

Hi Nigel,

I'm not actually trying to do this across companies, but I do have Sonic installed. Hmmm, how to explain?

I have a UD parent/child table set up to keep track of our charge numbers, the means by which we keep our colors of money sorted out. [One might think that we could/should use GL for this, but we don't have financials licensed and I think it doesn't quite map correctly, anyway. Such is life as a gov't contracotr.] I use the same 3 ShortChar fields in the same way to store the data in question.
So far I'm using the charge number on requisitions and purchase orders, and that's working well enough to store and display one at a time.

Now, I'm moving forward trying to provide a function my program management users want. I need to pull lines from requisitions and release from POs to slice, dice, julienne and aggregate by charge number and 'sub-program', of which there are 3 per charge number. [At this point, sub-program is just along for the ride, and will matter only for display and summary later.] I've got BAQs that will handle either POs or requisitions without any trouble, but I can't persuade Phrase Builder to let me set up a query that will _not_ link the requistiions and POs in the same query, but instead return all lines that have a particular charge number. A parent with two children, if you will, and the kids aren't [and shouldn't be] speaking to one another. That's not quite correct, since the tables in question are UD101A, PORel, and ReqDetail, but it's the best way I can think to describe it.

Executive Queries might be the answer, but I'm not clear on how to attach two BAQs to one EQ, or otherwise get all the pertinent data into one cube. The available help doesn't go quite all the way there, of course, and my intuition isn't up to the task.

I'm using 405A on a SQL database.

Thanks,

Lynn
