Expired Warranty behavior in Field Service Call Entry

During testing I am noticing in Field Service Call Entry when entering a pack id and line number of an part with expired warranty I get an error saying “Warranty is expired” and I am not able to enter the line.

However if I instead add a new line leaving the pack id and line empty and instead enter part number and serial number I can save the line and the pack id and line gets populated based on the serial number info.

It seems incorrect that you are not able to add a line using the pack id for an expired warranty part, yet you can add it if you use part number and serial number. My question to the group - would there be scenarios where you don’t want to allow a part to be added to a Field Service Call when it’s warranty is expired. I currently don’t think so. Pretty sure I would like my car to be serviced even if my initial warranty has expired.

If you enter the part number then the serial number it will auto fill the Pack ID/line and allow you to create the service call line, however if you enter the Pack ID/line first you will get the above problem. The added a Warranty and FSA tab to customer shipment entry and the new “feature” seems to be causing the grief you are experiencing
