Is there a way to export a RB report to a file to use in Excel (like you can do in the Business Activity Query)?
Thanks!

I setup the report with one header (column titles) and no footers and each "record" (or a single group footing) has the "rows". It is a bit of a trick to place commas (or other delimeter) in between fields as well as avoiding extra spaces but once it is all done it works well. Under "file" on the menu bar there is an option to export to a file. Main problem I have had is this requires running direct from RB development screen and not from a Vantage menu - so not for end-user usage.

We create excel files in a few ways:
1) Preview the report
Start Excel
open File > Open > c:\vntgwork \ rpt***.txt
choose: fixed width fields
Some reports open better than others, depends on layout

2) Create report in RB with semi-colon between each field
File > Export as name.txt
Start Excel
Open this txt file as 'delimited' 'semicolon'
This brings in better field distinctions

3) These days we use CorVu to select data and export it to Excel

Hope that helps
