Fax Portion of APM

The fax and e-mail portion of APM is cheap. We use Microsoft Fax and it works great. The e-mail section also works well. The setup is simple and doesn't cost you a dime.

How difficult was it to set up the built in fax on server 2003 and tie it
into APM? We are hoping to go low-buck on this project.

We are using the built in fax capability of Server 2003 and a USR
hanging on a COM port.

We are using VSIfax with a single line fax modem right now. Seems to
be working alright.

We use "Net SatisFAXtion" and have zero problems with it. The software
works great and is easy to use.

We've had great success using the myfax.com service. You send to
email, but you incorporate the fax number in the email address. For
example, 15555551212@.... The service is reasonably priced and
has been easy to incorporate since there wasn't a fax server to setup
and maintain.

We use FaxMaker by GFI. At the time had the best pricing/features for
us.

Make sure you are using latest APM - 2.5 (I believe) because Server
2003 fax was not supported before that.

The only trick is to make sure Microsoft Document Imaging is the
default program associated with TIF files
