Final Operation - BOM

Just as an FYI, for those backflushing labor, the final operation indicates that any preceeding operations are eligible to be backflushed through the backflush labor process server. If the final operation on a MOM is checked, you only have to report quantity on that operation and your other operations will backflush the labor if those operations labor methods are set to backflush.

Â

In Vantage 6.1 and before, you had to flag this checkbox otherwise you would never get any completed quantity on your job.
As of Vantage 8 and in turn Epicor 9, this checkbox is only used by exception. In other words the system assumes the last operation sequence on assembly zero is the last operation
This checkbox is so you can use an operation prior to the last, in order to mark job quantity complete when quantity is posted to it.

The last operation sequence is stored in the PartRev and in the JobAsmbl tables, but updated via the Part Operation and Job Operation views You do not necessarily need to check this box for the system to work.

That doesn’t help me…. There must be something on the Partopr that indicates which operation is the last one.

How does the Job know which is last? I remember indicating “FinalOper” on the DMT tool when importing our BOM’s way back when….

Ok folks, I having a senior moment.... I know there is a field somewhere
that indicates the operation is the 'Final Operation'.

Be damned if I can find it.... Anyone?

Also, I may need to create a SQL view, but once created, how can I
access it via a BAQ?

Thanks!!

Bill,

To access a SQL database in a BAQ you need to create an External Query. Before you do this you need to create an ODBC on the Epicor server, the driver should be SQL Server Native Client 10.0. Then the ODBC connection will be available in the Data Source drop down. I also create SQL Server credentials to use for the ODBC connection as well as in the External Query setup.

I don't think it is possible to then link the SQL tables to any Epicor tables. I have been able to add SQL and Epicor tables to the Phrase build and link them, but then Epicor gets upset when trying to run the query.

Hope it helps,

-Ted

PartRev.FinalOpr becomes JobAsmbl.FinalOpr. It is the OprSeq of the operation.

FinalOpr

x<http://svr-eapp2/datadictionary/Mfgsys/00-cross-f.html#FinalOpr>

Final Operation

integer

>>>9

0

D: The sequence of the operation that is to be considered as the operation which indicates the quantity complete for the Job/Assembly. In other words this operations completed quantity = Job/Assembly completed. Note: Zero = no operation is set and that the system should use the last operation to determine quantity complete. This field is not directly maintainable. Instead it is set during operation maintenance by having the user mark a check box indicating "Final Operation" which then updates this field with the operations sequence number.
