Find all customizations where a field is used?

Thanks for the ideas. I found the table DashBdChuck where I can run a Like search to find the field. Now I just have to see if one of them is coming from the table we are looking for.

We are using Epicor 9.05.701.
Does anyone know of a way to search customizations to find if a database column is being used?
Example: in Order Entry we want to use the database field Character01. In checking the database we found 1 order that has a value for that field but we can't find it used in any of our customizations.
Does Epicor have such a search or does someone have a script that would do the search?
Thanks
You would have to write a SQL Script to do that if you are SQL.

Just a thought, but you could export all your customizations to XML and then do a text search through the XML files. Â You would also want to check BPMs and BAQs. Â I use some user fields in some places that never show up in a customization.

The first thing I would do is create a BAQ to display that field and see if
there's anything in there. That will show if you have an active
customization using it.

Many people use Extended Property Maintenance to add labels to their UD
fields to document the use of the field.

Finally, Customization Maintenance will show you which field is used in a
customization but not as easily and you'd like. Search for customizations
and then select each one, choose Actions from the menu and Show Custom
Data, click on the properties tab and sort on PropertyName and search for
epiBinding. You'll see the fields use in the PropertyValue column.

If I were to guess, the data is in the XXXDef and XXXChunk tables but the
information is encoded in someway...so I'm not totally positive.
