In crystal click on the database tab then select database expert.

Subject: [Vantage] find the correct .dbf to link with a Crystal report
(ver8.5)

hello,

I am new at this but I am trying to find the correct database file
(.dbf) that is generated by Vantage 6.1 through a Progress database
system in Crystal reports 8.5.
Can anyone suggest how I can find what .dbf file a vantage 6.1 entry (i.e.
customer shipment entry) has generated so I can link the
appropriate data to a report in Crystal Report 8.5???

thanks in advance

1) Exit Vantage
2) Delete all files in your Vantage Temp directory
3) Go into Vantage
4) Look at the folder and not what files are present
5) Run the report your intersted in.
6) Now look at your temp directory to see what files are there.

You will not generate any files unless you are printing a report. Vantage screens do not use dbf files. They access the database directly.

The primary tables in the database that are accessed by the Customer Shipment screens are ShipHed and ShipDtl. You will need to use ODBC connections to get to them.

Hope that helps,
Jeremy
