Firm Releases at the Planning Workbench

We don't use MRP. But we do have the same customization mentioned by
another responder.

It is possible that they were firm when MRP was run and then "unfirmed".

I have seen a couple of isolated cases where I had an order with a release
marked as "Make Direct" and NOT marked "FIRM". At the planning workbench,
using the Only Firm Release Search, these items still showed up even
though the releases were not firm. Has any one seen this happen?

We have a customization on order entry that every new release created is unfirm. This is because our custom orders can take days to enter into the system and get finalized. It has been indicated to me that some of these unfirm releases are getting through to the planning workbench from time to time, however I can never reproduce it nor explain why some slip through the cracks.
