Am new to this so please bear with me. I have some assets from a while back , from Y2012 that was not previously registered in the system and they would like to now.
So been testing it a bit.
So for the asset maintenance, i entered the acquired and placed in service date to be around Y2012.
For the asset addition, i selected the inter-group option to enter in the previous years depreciation and current year as well. For the apply date i entered the same date as the date placed into service which was sometime in Y2012.
Upon saving, i get the message that the inter-group addition must be in current year 2013.
So i contacted support and was advised that for inter group, the apply date cannot be back dated and should use the current date. But is fine to back date the acquired and place in service date. Was also advise to close all my previous fiscal year until current.
Am hesitant as once I close the previous fiscal year for the assets, dont think i can undo that.
Is what the support advising me to do correct? Or if there is a work around to this?
