Fixing a UOM problem on an Order

A line on an order got FUBAR’d during a DMT import, and I can’t figure out how to fix it.

There is a line in the order line that specifies a P/N in with a UOMClassID that is not compatible with the UOM’s in the OrderDtl and OrderRel records.

The parts UOMClassID is WEIGHT, while the UOMS on the OrderDtl and OrderRel records are EA

I tried using DMT to change the UOMS on the OrderDtl and OrderRel to LB (which is in the WEIGHT class). But DMT fails, stating that “EA” is not of the class WEIGHT.

I’ve also tried deleting the release, and deleting the line, but both fail as well.

Any thoughts on how to recover this Order?

Can you manually close the order line (void it) and add a new one?

Brad

No. I cannot even load the Order in the Order entry screen. Entering the Order number and hitting Tab yields

I’ve marked the line as VOID using DMT, but I still can’t access the order in the regular UI.

You might be able to add a UOM of EA to the Weight UOM class to fool it.

Not sure you’ll ever get that UOM conversion back out though.

You may want to copy this database into a testing database slot to beat up
on it.

Then if you figure out a solution you know any repercussions before being
stuck with them in live.

Tried adding EA to class WEIGHT, but get

As I thought would happen.

I had the same issue, but with a purchase order. Epicor sent me a fix to close the PO, Line, & Release since everything else we tried failed. We were unable to add EA to Weight as it is in another UOM class. Updateable BAQs error out the same as DMT errored out.

If you can in another order our your test environment put that part on an order and the UOM is correct then you can try a couple of things.

  1. Change the part to and EA part and then back, so it pick up the LB.

  2. Make an updatable BAQ to change the UOM to LB. You could also do that other thing which shall not be named to change to LB.

If the reason you cannot delete the release is due to it being linked to a job, just remove that link, create a new release re-link using the correct UM and then delete the bad release. We have that same issue about once quarter. Not sure why but it usually gets caught during the shipping process of generating a packing slip. If it is a stock item then I am unsure of a solution.
