Forecasting Software Interface

I purchased the interface you described from custom programming. This is
fairly stock code which is why they want you to put it in Excel. They don't
have to do much to make it work and it hopefully keeps the cost of the
interface down.

Vantage forecasting requires a date. Providing one makes it easier for
them. You have to decide if doing it differently is worth the extra cost.

They tweaked the interface slightly for me. We forecast on a two week
period instead of weekly.

I don't understand why you would need to change the dates. If this is a
custom interface it should be able to figure out what date to use based
on what week the bucket is for the appropriate year. You would simply
need to specify that each bucket will be treated as the Monday or Friday
of that given week. The logic should not be too difficult.

Do any of you interface forecasting software with Vantage? Recently we
purchased ForecastPRO software and are trying to figure out what it will
take to interface with Vantage. Apparently, we'll need to purchase an
interface from custom programming, but will also need to move the
forecast
output files to Excel and run a macro to change the weekly bucket (ex.
35-2002) to a specific date for upload to the Vantage forecast file.

If any of you have experience with this relationship between software
packages and can give me a clue about interfacing, especially if it can
be
done without an intermediate manipulation of the data in Excel, please
let
me know.
