Formatting a datetime field in a customization?

We have a UD field that we added to the LaborHed table: data type datetime, format {longtime}. We want to bring it into a customization on the Time and Expense Entry, formatted just as HH:MM:SS, and we get this:

The highlighted field on the right, which contains the “lonA.D.Pi12e” is an EpiDateTimeEditor, and the other highlighted field is an EpiText box…both of which have the same UD field as EpiBinding. How do we get either or both to show as HH:MM:SS?

Update…yesterday afternoon, I had tried using the Extended Properties → Format to “hh:mm:ss tt”, but the change didn’t take effect yesterday. This morning, when I loaded the customization, it worked, and the formatting stuck:
