Thanks Vic,

Did you add these fields to the Customer Shipment Entry or BOL
appplications?

Hello ALl,

I am working for a manufacturing company and am working on a webservice that will communicate with a LTL freight company. I have researched the customer shipment entry and bol systems and was wondering how other companies communicate the freight details to thier carriers (i.e. number of shippable units, weight, class, description, hazmat, stackable).

It seems that customer shipment has some basic shipment information like 3rd party billing but seems to be geared toward UPS and FEDEx ground shipments. BOL offers shipping line information but not all the options in customer shipment entry. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

I've just supplemented the system in the past with UD fields that contain
values relevant to my LTL freighting carrier. We used Con-Way and I had set
up about 8 UD fields. At the time, Con-Way had an automated email receipt
process where I had a BPM fire an email with all the applicable freighting
data in a predefined string in an email. Rudimentary, but worked flawlessly
and avoided the need for double entry.
