On Friday, it’s EpiUsers Frideas Day! Have you been to the Epicor Ideas Portal recently? If so, are there some ideas you want to encourage other users to vote for? Maybe want to add comments to an existing idea?
I’ll start us off with the idea for " global hotkey or user default setting to enable field help icons on forms" https://epicor.ideas.aha.io/ideas/KIN-I-5677
Vote!!!
In classic grids (infragistic grids really), it’s easy to “multi” select. Either using shift, or click and drag. In the web, you can’t do that. They have select all, which is sort of helpful. But if I want to select a large set, but not all of a grid, I need to check the boxes one by one. Seems like there should be a way to at least shift select. This is needed for updateable dashboards, since really the main purpose to to update lots of records in a single convenient place.

edit: dang, I didn’t realize there would already be 18 votes for this. I don’t remember socializing this already!

Sharing this one since it has more votes than mine. Would be great to format grids for better visualization.
Here’s a fresh one - I just posted about this yesterday hoping to see that there was already something in the works.
When using a rich text editor, you have to click Save within the text editor for the edits to stick when saving the record you’re working on. My idea is to make that happen automatically when saving the record.

Publish a plan to continue supporting (or not) the Advanced Printing license module in Kinetic
We depend on the advanced printing feature. With about a year to go we either need to be convinced that it will be supported, or start coming up with an alternative solution. So, I asked support about when support is actually planned.
“It’s certain that it should be included in one of the future updates since classic is going to be deprecated in the coming years.”, they said. “Apologies, but we don’t have that info at the moment.”
I looked at the options after posting that and thought the would be a good substitute. …then proceeded to not use it.
I like that one!
We have several APR reports we use too and this is needed for us too as we’re also SaaS.
APR is one of the ‘tools’ that Epicor said would be part of the power tools when they announced the retirement of the classic client. Alongside Functions and DMT. I believe this power tools suite was stated to be released with 25.2.
Reload a BAQ
Not re-run the query, actually reload the BAQ itself and return to its last saved state. Sometimes I’m just trying something out. Sometimes I make mistakes. Sometimes I just want to click that classic ‘refresh’ button and make those things go away.
Yikes, didn’t know about that one… APR is critical for us too.
@timshuwy do you know?
I’m late for the week, but this one has always been often requested by folks I’ve worked with.
APR will most likely be part of the powertools… ( Safe Harbor)… not exactly sure when the powertools will be delivered, but at the latest, it should be at the time of 2026.1 when the regular client is retired.
