On Friday, it’s EpiUsers Frideas Day! Have you been to the Epicor Ideas Portal recently? If so, are there some ideas you want to encourage other users to vote for? Maybe want to add comments to an existing idea?
Putting this one back out there because it reared its head again this week:
Add RFQ Reference Rows in Time Phase - KIN-I-5805
If a PO Suggestion is processed to a PO, the PO information is visible in Time Phase, so you can have a full accounting of the demand/supply.
However, if a PO Suggestion is processed to an RFQ, there is no reference to this in Time Phase. The suggestion was processed, so it no longer appears, and there is no PO (yet) so there is no way for someone to know a given part is being taken care of, if there was a glitch and no suggestion was ever created, etc. This creates a lot of confusion and requires additional digging to truly learn the status of a particular part.
This one continues to annoy me: Application Studio landing page should not load | Epicor Ideas Portal
I know I am beating a dead horse here but we need ALL THE FIXES for APR. Or even just any of them. Please?
Comprehensive request to re-engineer all of the Email actions and components in Kinetic
Ability to Select Multiple Contacts or Manually Enter Email Addresses for Routings
SSRS Breaking/Routing - Allow Execute Custom Code
Add Current User Email address to System/BAQ constants
Allow Change of Default value for “Routing” check box on Print dialog screen
Routing rule on the report data definition not the report style
More native functionality with Email Template in Breaking/Routing
I just added this one:
Retrieve only PCIDs related to selected Parts in Cycle Count Part / PCID Selection Update
Easier selection of only those PCIDs that contain Parts already selected in the cycle for counting.
This is annoying me again today, so please vote.
Ability to filter custom vs. non-custom elements | Epicor Ideas Portal
At this point it needs to be 2026.1 as I think they locked in what they’re doing for 2025.2 already.
I’ll toss mine back out there:
Allow modification of Reuseable Combo | Epicor Kinetic Ideas Portal
Debugger for BPMs | Epicor Kinetic Ideas Portal
Silently Pass Parameters to BAQs in App | Epicor Kinetic Ideas Portal
Need Additional Triggers/Hooks in App | Epicor Kinetic Ideas Portal
Add Alternate Text/ToolTip/Caption | Epicor Kinetic Ideas Portal
@aosemwengie1 - we may need to get Epicor to combine all of yours with mine
Comprehensive request to re-engineer all of the Email Output
Your votes total to 106 at this moment, and mine is 62 - maybe that’s enough to get some real consideration @timshuwy
There’s always the mischief option! Leave a comment on each pointing to the others so that voters can see where to apply lots of votes and flood the zone with APR content.
Unless all 62 are in the 106.
when you say “all” I am not sure what you mean… also note that when we “merge” ideas, that any votes that are merged are automatically dedupped so if you vote for 10 ideas and we merge them, it turns into 1 vote.
BUT NOTE if see multiple ideas that would be better off merged becuase they are similar, let me know which ones, and I can do that. OR you could write a new idea that consolidates the concepts of multiples, and ask for the old ones to be merged with the new one.
All the ones I listed above.
@timshuwy - I understand what you are saying. Let me state my position differently for this conversation.
@aosemwengie1 pointed out a number of ideas relating to APR, and my ‘big picture’ idea is a combination of many other ideas related to emailing, alerts, message logging, notifications, processing feedback (eg System Agent), and overall communication issues that have been pointed out over the last couple of years. I suspect that with some effort I could find another 30 ideas, if not more, that reference the issues and bring them altogether in one large list. These issues run the gambit of inherent difficulty or lack of functionality & customizability, in using various email transport systems, lack of notification capabilities, sent email confirmation, etc.
Instead of focusing on fixing APR, or alerts, or any single topic independently, I’m suggesting that Epicor build a framework for communication that utilizes a customizable setup and processing mechanism, and provide hooks and functionality throughout the system to allow us to customize how and what the system sends out from all of the possible origin points.
My idea contains a word document referencing many of these ideas, but since they keep appearing in different forms, I cannot also keep up with them.
I’m ever hopeful that maybe Epicor could do some digging and see that there are a multitude of individual requests that would be better served with a new module rather than many smaller modifications.
Personally, i would rather Epicor hack away at the individual improvements listed in those ideas- some of those seem like they should be so trivial to implement (i.e. controlling whether routing is on by default or not) vs waiting potentially years for a whole new system to be designed and implemented replacing APR etc.
I just read this article… “Every time you say “yes” to a feature, you are saying “no” to a thousand others.” and I love article title and the quote from it:
“Every time you say “yes” to a feature, you’re saying “no” to a thousand others.”
This resonates so much to what we do every day in our planning… we literally have 1000s of ideas, and we can only handle so many at a time.
So, most of the time, we dont say “no, never”, but we are saying “not yet” to many of your great ideas… Thanks for your continued participation in Epicor Ideas! They have made an amazing impact on our roadmap!
I think you’re both right! All of the tasks justify a larger project, and a larger project would retain all of the tasks.
I really wish Ideas supported something like that. When a flock of ideas does get populated into an organizing backlog project or epic, it would be fun to see some detail about that and get a sense of direction and momentum.
This one would save lots of heartache for lots of people.
