We just got cut off from our FTP folder at Epicor. But a halt to all of our label printing, etc. Is anyone else having issues?? Just curious.
thanks,
Jill

Yes. Happened around 8:45am EST. Just opened a case with support.
Here is what i heard back:
I wanted to inform you that we have proactively stopped the FTP service on our side. Our antivirus solution detected malicious activity originating from one of the tenants using the same FTP service. Immediate action was taken to prevent any impact on other tenants sharing this service and deployment.
We are already working closely with the affected tenant, who is implementing remediation measures on their end. From our side, disabling the FTP service ensures that there is no possibility of any spreadable activity.
We are planning to bring FTP service back online shortly. That said, to provide a more secure and segregated alternative, we can prepare a File Share solution based on the SMB protocol, which adds an extra layer of security. Please let us know if we should deploy this for you.
Please rest assured that there is no risk of propagation of any malicious activity whatsoever.
Thank you for your understanding, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions

I mean, yeah. It’s more secure than FTP…but SMB has had some spectacular security incidents like WannaCry.
Microsoft will try to move users to SMB over QUIC in the future to improve the security posture of SMB.
Mark,
Thank you for the added information. That will help me when talking to Epicor Support.
They just fixed the error and we are back up and running!! Hooray!!!
Happy Monday after a major upgrade:>)
Same as @Mark_Wonsil.

Smells like a case of ransomware at some tenant.
I think we’ll just go direct to Bartender using their API and cut out all the middlemen.
