Fulfillment Workbench Allocations/Reservations

Bug or as designed?

  • sales reserves parts
  • warehouse uses allocate by part
    • there are multiple allocation templates that separate picks based on warehouse zone
    • running allocation template 1 will allocate and release for picking the parts in that zone
    • parts that were not available in that zone become unreserved
  • we lose visibility on parts previously reserved
  • Ideally we run:
    • allocation template 1 (releases to picking all parts in that zone)
    • allocation template 2 (doesn’t touch the parts allocate by the first allocation, allocates parts in zone 2)
    • allocation template 3 (same as 2)

If this is by design, then please help me see a use case for this.

Is this the Auto Fulfillment, or Manual?

Manual fulfillment from fulfillment workbench.

Can you explain a bit more on what the templates are? Is that something that is set up? or just a term of what users are doing to get the workbench set up to process.

Instead of doing an ad hoc allocation, they have built templates to specify the bins they want to pick from.

Where is the template picked from? I don’t have that option (23.2)

Look in the horizontal overflow in the top right, then select allocate by part (you can use a template with the other allocations too).
From there you will see the allocation process criteria, where you select things like what warehouse/zones to pick from. If you don’t have a template set up you will need to use ad hoc.
