Can someone explain how Fulfilment workbench works with Make To Order Jobs. We have our jobs setup directly linked to Sales Orders. I was always under the impression that you could not use the Fulfilment WB on Make To Order requirements although i last looked at it about 10 years ago.
If it can now be used on MTO can someone briefly explain how it works in a sense of the planning team being able to see that they have completed job quantities that are linked to a Sales Order to be able to fulfil a shipment etc?
I don’t know the answer, but it gets at the WIP discussion the other day. Epicor sees completed MTO jobs as WIP until it ships, but you and my plant controller and others kind of wish there was a waystation of Completed WIP Not Shipped. Shall we invent an acronym? CWNS?
Pronounce it in Welsh/Gaelic as “crowns.”
We are fully make to stock but I don’t see much difference between this and Completed WIP Not Received.
We identify this today by identifying WIP that has come from the final operation of the job.
Hi Daniel,
The fulfillment workbench will show a percentage of fulfillment based on the quantity identified as complete on the last operation of a make to order job. There is a specific ‘MTO Order Qty’ column that will identify this information.
This would allow a planning team to see what production team has noted as complete, as well as allow those parts to be sent through for picking, if that functionality is being used.
Thanks Beverley, will look into this to see if it helps what the guys want to do. I feel they have some testing to do.
