Function Library import timing out on larger libraries in 2026.103.0

We’re seeing larger Function Libraries fail to import with a SQL timeout. Smaller libraries work fine, but larger ones (around 80KB+ .efxj, dozens of functions) consistently fail.

We’ve reproduced it through:

  • REST ImportLibrary
  • Solution Workbench
  • Function Library Designer (.efxb and .efxj)

The error points to:

LibraryReferencesAnalyzer.LoadMesh(...)
DetectCircularReferences(...)
Execution Timeout Expired

So it looks like Epicor is timing out during the circular-reference check.

This started recently, and we think it may have begun after upgrading Pilot to 2026.103.0.

Has anyone else run into this with larger Function Libraries or found a workaround?

I’m not on that version but could you use the Performance tracking tab in Developer Tools in your browser to see if it will say exactly what is causing the slowdown? Hopefully it doesn’t just say the name of the Function but worth a shot.

This could be a really big problem for me…

Likewise, our EFX are large, especially the ACH ones.

An update on this, it appears to be less of an EfxLibrary size issue but rather whether your library has a reference of another Efx Lib.

In our env, it didnt matter if the lib was used in any code, only if it was referenced at all. Those were the ones that failed to import. Additionally, it was only with overwrite mode set to Upgrade/Force. Libraries imported with overwrite set to ‘none’ without issues.
