Further to the email below, it looks like the older versions of Vantage create a .vdl file which will allow the user to open the correct Vantage screen by double clicking the attachment, providing there is a session open.
We are on E9 and our Alert is send as a .mfgsys file.
Any help would be appreciated.

Subject: Alert Attachment Maintenance
Hi
I have created a BAM where when a contact name is added a dsignated used is informed by email.
This part was straight forward.
However, in the email the body only tells the end-user limited information (e.g. who did what and when). it doesnt tell we which record was added, so it is no help at present. There is an Alert.mfgsys file attached to the email but when you click on it, it opens in notepad.
I have been reading the user guide a it appears that I need to set up an Alert Attachment.
However, the CustCnt table isn't available when you click on the Table... button.
I have manually typed it in, but I dont think this is right.
Even with a standard global alert, the Alert.mfgsys attachment opens in Notepad.
Does anyone know how I can get it to open in the correct screen in Epicor?
If not, how can I add to the email body which customer the contact belongs to and their name?
Any help would be appreciated. I have been sent a .r file from a forum user, but I have no knowledge of editing these or creating them.
Any helo will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
CHRIS THOMPSOn
