FW: Call # 1855745ESC - CRM Customer does not show up on Custome

I edit the server file prior to releasing the patch for the client updates.
When the clients update they all are set to the new value.

It actually used to be 1000.

My guess is performance?

Why doesn't epicor just change it to 1000 and be done with it. It seems like
a decent amount of records without overload. 100 is too small.

Please not that if you make a custom Config file and point your client to
use it you will need update the <Version value="8.03.407" /> line each time
you update or your client will go through the auto update process each time
it loads. It uses this line to determine what version the client is if it
doesn't match what's on the server it goes into auto update.

Keep in mind that you will have to do this every patch unless you copy the
file to a new name edit. You will then have point the shortcut to the new
file by adding /config=xxx.mfgsys to the path. Replace the xxx with the
newly saved path name.

On the user PCs, go to the c:\client803\client\config folder. Edit the
mfgsys.default file using Notepad. Find this entry
<DefaultSearchPageSize value="100" /> Change the 100 to 1000 or
whatever you want the returned search about to be. Save the file.
That's it, problem solved.

On 408B SQL we have a bug where one searches for a Customer and they are not all displayed until you hit the Next100 button at the bottom

The SCR is below and due to be resolved in .409. Anyone have a work-around by chance?

SCR 59147 will solve this problem in version 8.03.409, which is planned for release at the end of October.

The workaround would be to click on Next 100 button until the customer shows up or create a Named Search to have Return All Rows option set by default.

You can modify that in your default.mfgsys file. It's located in c:\client803\client\config\ you want to change this setting... <DefaultSearchPageSize value="100" /> change it to 1,000 or what ever you need.

When we were still on Vantage, we noticed that clicking the Binoculars gave
the old behavior but clicking on the Customer Number button to search gave
the result you shared.

They said it was "by design" and that other companies were clamoring for
this kind of behavior. I asked for their address...

By the sound of it, it was probably requested by the guys who wrote the
search for Yahoo! Groups...
I have a work around... who needs one?

On the user PCs, go to the c:\client803\client\config folder. Edit the
mfgsys.default file using Notepad. Find this entry
<DefaultSearchPageSize value="100" /> Change the 100 to 1000 or
whatever you want the returned search about to be. Save the file.

Why doesn't epicor just change it to 1000 and be done with it. It seems like a decent amount of records without overload. 100 is too small.

Why doesn't epicor just change it to 1000 and be done with it. It seems like a decent amount of records without overload. 100 is too small.
