FW: SC Noob Question

It seems to be processing the excel through now but not really doing what I
want it to do. (it isn't actually doing anything)

Back to the workflow I go.

The port settings would have been setup when you first configured the Web
Services.

I always forget if it is the DB port number or the Appserver port number
that gets put in there.

I'm very new to Service Connect basically just started using it.

I have created a work flow that reads in a part number from excel and
updates the primary bin on a warehouse to specific bin.

However it does not seem to be working when I look through the document
tracking info it tells me that it could not connect to the app server
because the app server actively refused the connection.

Can some one help me find the cause of this issue.

~Charlie

Hi Charlie,

I am not an expert either, but I know you need to have a valid Vantage
username and password - and use that name and password when you install
the web services. That sounds like it may be your issue.

Appserver actively refusing means that the appserver is not running, or your

There's a web.config file in the directory where your webservices are. What port number is listed there? You can edit it by hand, or use the WS-Configuration tool to edit it. That needs to point to the port number of the appserver of the database you want to work with (typically 8301 for production/MfgSys803, 8321 for MfgTest803, 8331 for MfgPilot803, etc.)

Hi Charlie,

I am not an expert either, but I know you need to have a valid Vantage
username and password - and use that name and password when you install
the web services. That sounds like it may be your issue.

~Charlie

The port settings would have been setup when you first configured the Web
Services.

I always forget if it is the DB port number or the Appserver port number
that gets put in there.
