[Fwd: Control Accounts, wip accts, cos accounts]

I only know v6 but believe it is largely the same in v8. Basically ,
the cos accounts are to match off against the wip elements, at the
company level but can be altered at a product group level.

The cost of returns is generally used as a control account, a default
cos account. Epicor do have a GL trans table / spreadsheet which
should shed some light.

We currently are on version 3.0 and starting the process to go to V8.
In vantage 3.0 in the company config. you have control accts( work-in
process, inventory accts, applied labor and burden, dmr -)
You have your *cost of sales* account. - In V8 under company config
(control accounts) is this renamed cost of returns? They are also
requesting cos accounts.(broken down in 5 elements) V3.0 you only haves
*one* cost of sales account. Example: In vantage 3.0 say you
purchased material for a job it goes to your material wip account (DR)
and when the job shipped the material was then (CR). The total cost of
the material was put to your *cost of sales* account. How does vantage
8 work. Could someone using my example tell me how this would flow through.
