I've got it. Just took the query from Crystal and pasted into Excel. Added some columns and walla!
Hello, everybody:
Our sales manager is requested a requesting a report that I've generated in Crystal and exports to Excel, but he wants a live version running in Excel so they can make comments on jobs that show up on this report (all open jobs within a given date range).
feedback from this group has been great, they recommended using Excel Power Query, I'm in the process of downloading a trial Excel Pro version to use this feature. Will this feature allow me to accomplish what the sales manager is requesting?
Much regards,

We are just getting our feet wet since being live on Epicor only a couple of months. However, with the help of our consultant, we have developed an updateable dashboard which is real time and enables us the ability to right click immediately into Epicor to get additional info if needed. I would think the dashboard could capture the “Comments†field or a User Defined field to update the comments mentioned below. We created the updateable dashboard to move away from an Excel spreadsheet.

Okay, that's nice, but what about allow the user to update the comments field or add a comments field in the dashboard that would be allow you to update?
I don't know that I'd give something that could update via ODBC/Excel.
Problems with record locking & corruption comes to mind right off the bat.
Epicor does have a new(er) product for Excel integration that might work... your CAM should know details.
Otherwise I'd stick with an updateable DB assuming your on E9, or maybe something with the DMT
