Does anyody know of any decent generic file viewing software?

I'd like to reduce the requirement to have MS Word, Excel,
Autodesk's Volo Viewer for CAD etc on every client where I want
users to refernce external docs from Vantage.

Autovue used to ship on the Vantage disk I think until about 5.1?
But I'm having trouble with it for some reason making it work now
that we are on 6.1.

Proper Autovue turns into an expensive proposition and, the world
being a big place and all that, I figured some of you guys might
have some helpful leads if your have trodden this path already.

I did search the archive for 'viewers' etc, but didn't find
anything :(
I really like FastLook by Kamel Software. It's the lightest weight most
competent viewer I've used. Over 250 file formats. You could open a
zip and then open a dwg all within the same viewer. The only format it
doesn't have is pdf. Adobe's Reader is so sloooowwwww.......

There are free viewers for Word and Excel downloadable from Microsoft. We have all of our ISO documentation in Word and the free viewer on all the shop floor PCs so people can read but not edit them.

For a generic viewer I like HiJaak-Pro. It opens things even Autovue can't (and the reverse is also true unfortunately). It is now sold by IMSI Software and runs $149 (maybe less from aretailer). Info at:
http://www.imsisoft.com/prodinfo.asp?t=1 <http://www.imsisoft.com/prodinfo.asp?t=1&mcid=99> &mcid=99 The standard version is $100.

A side feature is the screen capture wher eyou can draw out a section of a screen and capture to clipboard or printer. Very handy for Vantage documentation.
