Geting to the bottom of particular speed issues in Epicor 9

Sounds good.
I always enter a few records manually to compare with newly converted/imported ones.
If I notice differences, then I start using the tracer.

This sounds like it is more than just the difference in speed between the two versions.
(I think everybody will agree that E9 is slower than Vantage 6.1).

I have reported both of these to Epicor but just interested if it is just our data or a core software problem. We have converted from Vantage 6.1 with over 5 years' worth of data. DB size 17.6GB

1. Creating New Parts: When we save our part for the first time and subsequently call it back up it takes over 20 seconds to return the data. As soon as we put stock in for this item it speeds up. Even if we then remove the stock to leave zero stock the speed is still instant(as it should be)!
We have approximately 65000 parts

2. If we change the Supplier/Vendor of a purchase order when you click save it hangs for over 2 minutes before saving.
Just wondering how the data was converted?
Use the DMT?

If so, I wonder if that might be related.
I've seen imported parts take a while to load.
Usually just the first time though.

If this happens every time you load the part ...

Then I wonder if some related tables or fields were missed when converting/importing.

I had trouble like this once.
I used the tracer to find the missing table/field data
By manually entering a part to see what tables were involved.
Then comparing to an imported one.
Does that one load OK? What tables were written to when saved, etc...

Maybe worth tracing when adding stock too?

We used the standard Epicor conversion, through the different versions to 9.04.506c.

I will try using the trace option you suggested.
