Global Alerts are sent after updates

Not sure if this is the same in 8.x but in 6.10 there is a process server that has to run on the Vantage server to make the notices and logging run. Every time I reboot the server I need to remember to restart it (and often forget). Perhaps there is something similar in 8.x?

Kersten,

I have repeatedly checked the Global Alert error log and found
nothing. There also used to be an error dialog box when they dropped
into the Global Alert error log. I haven't seen that message for some
time. The question still remains why they stop working from time to
time. They are piling up somewhere, or they wouldn't be there to dump
when an update occurs.

Our 'New PO Suggestions' process has not functioned since 404A. It
errors out when run. Epicor support has been working on it since
6/18/08. Nothing yet. I have been wondering if these might be related.

Anybody else see the global alerts show up after an update??

I have setup several Global Alerts via email. For the last four
updates (both Openedge and 8.03.405), after the update is completed,
our inboxs are filled with the global alert messages we should have
been receiving all along. Any idea what we are doing wrong?

Thanks,

Funny, but we're experiencing the same issues as well here - we're at
8.03.404B.

Sure wish we could see them queued up and get them coming out as
they're expected rather than only when an update is performed (and then
they quit working soon after the batch has been sent).

Are you seeing anything in the error log? Mine stop working from time to
time and I end up stopping and restarting the task manager and process
server. If the messages are showing up in the error log they can be
resent from there
