Hi all and Happy Holidays! :christmas_tree:

Any Global CoA experts around?

We have about 30 active companies sharing the same CoA, so we are trying to update our 2nd segment (CC’s) by adding new ones, renaming and retiring other ones.

The DMT to create the new segments is finishing correctly and we can see the new values across all companies.

When we try to update the description for some values DMT errors out saying we can’t update values flagged as Global, so we tried to flag the CoA as not global across all companies through DMT, but even the DMT is running perfect without any errors Epicor is not updating the CoA and still flagged as Global and the checkboxes are greyed out.

I’m pretty stuck and have no idea what to do next. Any ideas?

Try removing the global COA flag from main company, and push the changes in other companies thru consolidation processes.

What about the descriptions are you wanting to change? There are other ways to accomplish this based on what you’re wanting to do

For Global COA, I believe it is not possible. Segment description will remain linked with Global COA.
However, you can try a tick box “Overwrite Description” in GL Account, and change it there.

The was some parts of the description we wanted to get rid of. We did that via a BPM.

Tried that already but even the checkbox is not selected, the GLOBAL “Label” is still active (green color highlighted).

literally just to change the name, for example:

from: “CAN-US-MEX”
to: “Americas”

we tried via DMT and not working; name and description fields are greyed out

Try ticking Global COA and GL Account Lock - this will delink with Global COA

Opened a case with Epicor and they already sent a fix; I’ll install and keep you all updated,

Have you looked at the “Global Table” app? It could be forcing that to be read only from the parent there. We use this to control which fields the non-parent company can alter on the data. Maybe the description is being forced from the parent, in which case you could move it from “Selected Choices” to “Available Choices”:

all of that is set up correctly, I reviewed it few times and all good
