Global parts

I hope someone is able to help. We currently have two companies setup. We are on version 10.2.300.41

The issue we are experiencing is related to global parts. This has been working between the two companies fine. I have now added a third company and done the require setup.

Any new part that is ticked as global will transfer to the other two child companies. The issue that i am experiencing is i expected that any global parts that were ticked as global before the new company was created are not available to be linked in the newly created company.

I did try to un-tick and then tick again in the main company which then allows me to link in the company just setup but the existing company it un-ticked the part.

I did log a support case with Epicor and they have said its a known bug.

Just interested what others have experiences and work around available?

I think DMT is in your future. Once a part is processed it’s tricky to get it to go again, as you’ve found. DMT would make this easy.

Or you can go into the new company and Link/Create those parts from the Link Global Part screen. I think you can do multiple parts, so that might be better than DMT.

Issue i have in the new company that when i view the Link/Create part screen it does not show all the Global parts. Only anything that was selected as Global after the new company was created.

I did a quick search on EpicCare to confirm a couple of thoughts. Check these out and if it’s not the solution I’d open a ticket.
