Global Rescheduling

We just started running Global Rescheduling a few months ago.

Our problem we are facing:

  1. Global rescheduling is running anywhere from 2-3 days. WAY TO LONG!!
  2. When I run Calculate Global rescheduling and then go in to Adjust the sequence of units. All the jobs are not showing in the list for me to review.

What may be happening or is there another process I should be running first before Global rescheduling besides MRP? What should I be careful of?

We currently have a ticket out to Epicor Support but I also wanted to check here to see if there is anyone here might have a solution to the problem…

Thank you so very much for your help on this!!

Are you running the Generate Shop Capacity process first?

Are you Finite or Infinite? If you are Finite, what is your horizon?

I was not running Generate Shop Capacity, but I just tried that before I ran calculate global reschedule. Still waiting for the calculate to finish started running at 2:40pm and it is not finished at 5:20pm usually only takes an hour to run calculate.

All resources groups are set to infinite at the moment.

Generate shop capacity should not have caused global scheduling order to change. How many schedulers and processes do you set when you run these?

I am running infinite and 2 schedulers and 2 process’

just for some context, how many open jobs do you have? How many open sales orders, how many PO suggestions

Open Sales order = 109
PO Suggestions = 2050
Open Jobs = 449

not a large amount at all, can you give some indication of job complexity

single level BOM, multi Level BOM

one resource group on each op, multiple resource groups?

Jobs we can go anywhere from 1 assembly to multiple on top of multiple levels into assemblies. One of our jobs go into subassembly 200 .
For resource groups we usually have two resource groups , one for the people and one for the stall or machine.

To Give everyone an update, I tried Un-scheduling all of my jobs in the system and leaving them engineered and firmed. Now Global rescheduling is not scheduling more than half of my jobs in the system. :expressionless_face:

It’s quite hard to diagnose without sitting down and investigating the settings and config, as a rule, i would tell our customers to only schedule the machines as they are normally the constraint, rather than both machines and people. I would only schedule people for welders and bench work, like assy etc.

Especially if the operators can run multiple machines at the same time.

do you have a log, that you can review?
