Hi,
We are getting into trying to implement Scheduling and forecasting into our system and there were a few things that I ran across that may run into some issues.
Our customer gives us a forecast of 18 months and is fairly easy to import into Epicor. It is nice to see possible material needs for long lead time items. I do not necessarily want Epicor to schedule that and bring that in months in advance. Is there any way to have Epicor schedule only 60 days from the run date and after that just let MRP backward schedule from the Sales Order date?
I thought maybe finite horizon would be something to look at but when we have a finite horizon it will bring our forecast in and schedule it infinitely forward from today’s date. This is not what we would want as it would show we need something today for something that is due in a year!
One thought was to have MRP run EOM + 2 months then calculate the global scheduling order and then global scheduling the run MRP for the rest of the forecast period. Is this the only way to do that? I have not tested this yet it has just been a thought of working around this.
Thanks!
