Global Scheduling

Hello all,

Is anyone currently using Global Scheduling in Epicor? I’ve been exploring its functionality but haven’t been able to get it to work as expected, and I’m wondering if there’s something happening in the background that needs to be enabled or configured.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • I checked the “Synchronize Req By Date With Demand Links” box on Make-to-Stock jobs.
  • I pushed out the dates on the higher-level demand jobs, expecting the lower-level jobs to adjust accordingly.
  • However, the dates on the dependent jobs are not updating.

While reviewing documentation, I also came across the Adjust Global Scheduling screen, which allows you to modify the sequence in which jobs are rescheduled. However, I’m unsure how to use it effectively:

  • I’m unable to paste insert or paste update when exporting jobs to delete those I don’t want to include.
  • Deleting jobs seems to only work one line at a time, which is inefficient.
  • It’s unclear how Epicor determines which jobs listed in the Adjust Global Scheduling screen are selected for rescheduling. Is there a specific filter or flag the system looks for?

I may be misunderstanding how Global Scheduling is intended to function. According to the EUG, “Use Adjust Global Scheduling to manually fine-tune the scheduling sequence. You can filter or sort jobs and remove those you do not want to include in the scheduling run.” — but how exactly do you do that in practice?

Any guidance or insight would be greatly appreciated!

After you run Calculate Global Scheduling Order you can then edit the order to reflect what you want before you run Global Scheduling. I would not delete anything, I would just put the ones you don’t care about at the end of the list.

A post was split to a new topic: Why are Gaps Showing in my Schedule?

For the dates to be updated i think you need to run MRP.
