Going Live

We went live mid December. I thought we were in the clear until we started Y/E reconciliations this week. Cost Capture was run on Tuesday and made posting entries for every labor transaction since Jan 1. These were already captured in prior periods. At first Epicor said it was just a report issue, however, this transaction also shows in the GL. Yikes!

Anyone else get this?

Good luck!
A dash of advice, you'll have some issues --don't try to fix em on the fly.
Just make a list and go through them at the end of the day.

We went live with 9.05.607 yesterday. All in all, pretty painless. Broke a lot of reports that we use, as some of the fields changed names, some disappeared, etc. Some of the changes are ridiculous like changing AllocQty to AllocatedQty in the PartWhse table. Now, why do that? hehe

Good Luck!!

We are going live today as well. Already got a text on my way in that some
issues already exist.

Good times.

We upgraded from 8.03 to 9.06.607A on November 20th. It has been a major mess. I attach below our list of problems/bug finds, so that others might avoid some of these pitfalls.

1. Check Register appears to be in random order. We use it to determine what our next check number should be for manual checks and so a random order report is of no use. 5951091MPS Bug acknowledged; SCR 91387

2. Accounts Payable allows for duplicate check numbers when doing manual checks. This becomes very problematic, given #1 above. 1379584PSC; SCR 84093

3. Annual beginning balance sheet retained earnings detailed balances do not carry over correctly; known bug when converting from 8.03; 2615772ESC; SCR 90755

4. Summary GL table gets screwed up; detail clean; ledger appears out of balance; Verify Balances fixes this but then it immediately gets screwed up with the next GL transaction; 6011602MPS; Fix to 2615772 caused this problem; goes away when fix removed.

5. Financial Report Designer - designating account ranges does not work properly. To mimic the 43 row P & L from 8.03, I had to write a 291 row report, which took 1 ½ days. Known problem 1374774PSS

6. Sales gross margin report - takes forever to complete; fix implemented but now still taking forever to run; 5984928MP

7. Advanced billing report does not work; hangs; 26233560ESC

8. P.O. entry - when ordering an "Other" item, it won't allow you to input the GL account; known problem presumably fixed in a prior update but still broken; 5967069MPS Was told this was fixed in 606; sent back to Engineering

9. Currency table - no historical data was brought over in the conversion process 5948288MPS

10. Tax Connect - the setup boxes are greyed out and can't be changed; 2622133ESS Resolved.

11. Can't post bank reconciliations; 5961197MPS Fix received.

12. If you change users, plants, companies or language, this closes the system monitor. Apparently, if the system monitor is closed, you can't print reports. So people cannot print reports. Known bug. 1376183PSC

13. In Journal Entry Group Entry, you can't use the same Group ID twice. Known bug.

14. If you run a custom Crystal report in Epicor 9, the system DELETES the report after running it. You must mark it as read only; otherwise the system blows it away. Known bug. No one warned us about this and it took multiple calls before it was even acknowledged.

15. When the conversion was done, under GL Control Maintenance, Type: Division/Account Detail, the division numbers were actually put into the Department Field. Both divisions and plants were not set up properly during the Epicor conversion process. It's unclear why the software allows inputting a number into the Department field that isn't on the Department table list. Needless to say, this has made a real mess of our General Ledger. Finally received some programming help to fix.

16. When we went to capture and post, a portion of the transactions were rejected. We did an original STK-CUS transaction. The system took costs out of inventory and posted them in COS-Labor and COS-Material. Shipping reversed the STK-CUS transaction, and the system put all of the cost back into inventory, but only removed the COS-Material transaction. Transaction is now out of balance. Acknowledged bug. Finally received some programming help to resolve. 5976917MPS

17. Reversing STK-CUS transactions not only resulted in an out of balance transaction per #17 but some transactions did not post at all to the GL but indicated that they had been posted. 5976917MPS.

18. Miscellaneous invoicing process does not relieve customer deposit. 2642527ESC.
