GroupID name using a tilde ~

Set up another Group and transfer the invoices to that group.
After you have done that, you could delete the group

Hi there,

I had a creative user that used a ~ in a GroupID name while invoicing
which has stopped us in our tracks. The group is stuck in "active" mode
and the system can't return the group because of the special character.

I've called Epicor for support but their turn around is 48 hours or
more -- wanted a copy of my DB so they can load it and test and come up
with a solution. Meanwhile that batch can't be invoiced until we fix it.

I'm a new Epicor Admin, we're on 8.03.305L (Progress) and I have not
figured out how I can go into the database and change this GroupID name.

Has anyone got any advice for me? Any instructions?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you have Service Connect? If so you can write a workflow that goes
through and does an update on your group and unlocks it for you. We've
done this in the past

The Web Service you need to call is InvGrpService.Update
from there you should be able to change the group ID

I stand corrected the GroupID field can't be updated. Hmm you can call
the delte group service or BO but then if you have invoices intehre it
won't letyou.

It looks like Service Connect was removed from our server, so I'm
downloading it now... the former IT person apparently could never
figure it out.

Is there any other way to change the data?
