Grouping materials with their operation on the Job Traveler

Has anyone successfully moved the “Raw Material Components” listing to show the materials under each “Operation” on the “Traveler” where they are used? as opposed to just a mass list on page one? Any ideas? Can it be done?

I believe this can be done. However, your materials will need to have a related operation assigned. In our case, all of the materials are “related” to op 10, so we can’t see which op the material is needed for. To make sure this is worth doing, first ensure that you have materials setup at each operation. When you look at Job Entry > Job Details > Materials > Details, you should see a section for related operation. Set this up correctly at your part master level before creating jobs, or edit it after the job has been created.

If parts/jobs are setup correctly, then you only have to update the report style (ideally create a new/copy). The job traveler has a few sub-reports. One of them is the Raw Material Components. You have to find where this lives in the Traveler Report (it is on a collapsed row in mine), then cut it and move it to the inside of the operation section of the report (Insert a row below).

This is where I ran into a problem that I bet others can help solve. You need to filter the Raw Material Components report so that it only shows the materials where the related op = the current op seq. This is the part I am not sure about, but I am sure it can be done.
I hope this helps get you closer!
