Handheld Module

If you use Symbol/Motorola scanners they have a free applet that is a
shell over top of Winmobile that completely locks it down. I usually
give access to RDP (to get into the terminal services to run the HH
module) and the calculator.

Are you able to setup the handheld device so that only the handheld
application is the only thing the user can get to?

Thanks,
Jasper

The handheld module runs off a terminal server. Your handheld just needs
to
be able to run the Terminal server client. I have ran the handheld
module
off a blackberry with TS client.

On your terminal server, run the Handheld app by creating the following
shortcut (assuming you installed the client on the c drive)
C:\client803\client\MfgSys.exe -HH

Does anybody know what type of OS the Handheld module requires? Windows
CE.net or Windows Mobile?

Is the handheld module a separate software that must be installed on the
devices?

Thanks,
Jasper

I don't know the differences between the handheld OS's, but what you're looking for is an OS with an RDP (Terminal Services) client.

Handheld module utilizes RDP to work.

I'm not sure on the handheld side. But you can do it on the terminal server.

We aren't running handhelds but are "MES Units" which are hp thin clients
that RDP to a term Serv run a script on startup that kills the explorer spid
and launches the MFGSYS with the mes switch.

Ours may prevent explorer from running when you setup a logon script from
the RDP client.

Logon script is on every RDP client I have ever used just need to figure out
how to use which ever one yours is.
