Paul,

I have done something similar before in MS Access with 6.1. To simplify,
I will put first all BOMs in 2 columns - Finish goods in the first
column and all material use in assemblies and subassemblies in the
second column (with quantities used per material part) to calculate
usage. Then, I will bring open orders that generate demand for finish
goods, and would also bring inventory of warehouses to deduct calculated
demand of material. Add purchasing information to the deducted amount of
material to calculate costs or use your part cost system (if confident).

I have done the BOM consolidation in MS-Access, although it was more
complex including operations data as well. The rest of the tables are
just link/import and extract what you need using dates I suppose. Once
done, you can make a macro that does it all by clicking one button. You
will need someone with MS Access experience to develop something
similar.

As for Vantage reports, have not seen anything like that around.

Good luck. If you are interested to know more on the above, email me
directly.

Hello group. I am hoping vantage has a report that can tell me the
following
information. I need a report that will look through all my part
warehouses
in vantage and give me a total dollar amount of the material that needs
to
be ordered for that part, minus the material I have on-hand. Example, 45
pcs
of part XYZ needs to be built. The report will examine what I have
on-hand
and print out a report of the items I need to purchase. I then need a
report
that will show me by dollar amount how much is coming out of each of
these
warehouses for that part number. Is there a vantage report that will
show me
this? We are using ver 6.0. Thank you in advance.
