Help connecting printers to Quick Ship Installed Printers list

We have lost a label printer from our Quick Ship Installed Printers list. We need to get it back on so we can regain use of our workstation that uses that label printer.

Are you cloud or on-prem?

On-prem, make sure the label printer is still added in Windows on your QS server. Then restart the Epicor Quick Ship Print Monitor Service. When the service starts it loads the printers available on Windows and makes them available to QS. It writes a log file with the printers available and any errors. By default the log is in C:\Logs but you can change it in your config for the printer service.

Edit: Make sure to login and add the printer under the account running the Epicor Quick Ship Print Monitor Service.

I had to do this a couple of times in the last fews weeks and again today as it is the season of dying printers. In my case the magic sauce (provided by QS support) was to login to the QS server as the domain user running the Printmon service. That user could add the printer and then ptimon could find it and it was available in the QS facilities to add to the workstation.

Also remember no spaces or special character in the printer name.

I didn’t call this out but it’s important. I always login as the service account running the print service. Never have an issue.

One trick I was shown by support is, after you restart the QS Service - open the log file and you will see a list of the “detected” printers. copy the Exact text for the printer settings in the UI. We have had Case issues with QS before.
