HELP! Crystal Job Traveler won't print- ERROR

Hello all,

Can anybody tell me what this error is? It is showing up all of a sudden this morning and about half of the job travelers (crystal format) won’t print. The SSRS style prints fine. I have an angry boss. Any thoughts? I have restarted the task agent.

Thanks,

alice

Sorry, not a great image. It says

Program Ice.Services.Lib.RunTask raised an unexpected exception with the following message: RunTask: ‘’, hexadecimal value 0x1E, is an invalid character.

Hello Alice,

Somebody probably copy | pasted some text into a text field Which one? Not sure. :frowning: Find the job in question and see if you can eliminate the hidden character.

In this thread @aidacra helps me find the 0X1E characters that were messing me up.

Hello,

I thought I’d document what had caused the issue. I used DMT to update costing method on the Part table and although the part description field was left untouched in the DMT template, it changed format when exported back into Epicor and I ended up with all these 0x1E characters. What a nightmare.

Ouch, I just to got bitten by this bug “0x1E characters”

I now use “paste as text” to ensure my data is not changing format.

Hi Alice,

I have found that despite the DMT template builder claiming that part description is required for making updates, it frequently is not.
