Sounds like something is definitely awry. I did the upgrade on an old beater,
homegrown Pentium II server a couple month's ago and while this step did take a
while did not take an hour.
Probably not much help, but if you're like me (impatient) you may try starting
from scratch...

I'm in the upgrade from 4.0 to 5.0 installing Progress 9.1A and it is
stalled. In case there is anyone still at work or maybe further West I'm
hoping someone has seen this before. Right after it says it is installing
Data Access 2.1 there are no messages on the Progress install screen, no
progress boxes or anything and it has been like this for 1/2 hour. The
disks flash once in awhile and the performance monitor shows little or no
CPU activity. 99% idle. Hard to tell if it is doing anything at all. If I
try to close the install it wanrs that it is not yet complete so I resume.
Anyone out there ever see this or hear of it on a Progress install? Is this
typical? I've got all the Progress related services stopped and nothing
else running on the server. There is no mention in the install guide and I
don't recall this occuring on our test platform. I'm really hoping to get
5.0 on tonight so I can deal with 5.1 and 5.2 tomorrow. If I have to wait
for Epicor support tomorrow I'll be very behind schedule.
Thanks for any help or experiences with the 9.1A install.
