The "Application Development Environment - Getting Started" manual is a
pretty good ProVision tutorial that uses the "Sports 2000" sample database
that installs with ProVision. Also check the "Language Tutorial for Windows".

Hi all,
We have been on Vantage now for 3 weeks and need a little help
creating a program. We were on Vista before and I am good at writing
programs using the vista (vb) language. We had a open order report
that I made to export to Excel so that our scheduler could make notes
on shipping dates and why a part is not shipping, etc. This would
then get emailed to all the salesreps, so they had shipping dates,
etc. In vantage we have the open order report, but we need more. I am
going to learn all I can by Progress books and websites, however we
are in great need of this program now! The program will pull from the
customer, orderdtl, orderhead and packingslip fields. Any
suggestions? I think I have someone write this one until I am more
familiar with Progress. Anyone up for it?

Why not post your scheduler notes right in Vantage, use an order release
VBFORM comment field. Run a report builder report to recreate your
spreadsheet. Could even sort or filter by rep. Others in your system could
share in this data, it could even be used for future on time deliver
performance reports. Welcome to Vantage by the way. I hope you find this
group very informative but not to vocal.

I have considered that, however I still a way to get a quantity
shipped to date for each line item. I know this requires a left outer
join between tables, but I am unfamiliar so far with the progress
language.

Thanks.
