Help with Labor Collection Report

What I'm talking about is under the Employee Master File - you have to run
the Employee Results Link in order for payroll related queries to work.
It's a security thing, so not just anyone can run a query on those records.
It makes the employee records available for queries, and without "linking"
the information - you won't get any data.

I hope that helps!
Julie

Can someone please help me...

We are trying to run a report to extract labor information to feed to
our payroll provider Ceridian. Below is the query and when we analyze
the statements, it says the syntax is correct. Also, I would like to
have the employee name in this as well. However, it never runs. Can
anyone take a look at this and tell me what I'm doing wrong!!

FOR EACH LaborHed WHERE LaborHed.Company = cur-comp no-lock,
EACH EmpBasic WHERE EmpBasic.Company = LaborHed.Company,
EACH JCShift WHERE JCShift.Company = LaborHed.Company
AND JCShift.Shift = LaborHed.Shift no-lock,
EACH LaborDtl WHERE LaborDtl.Company = LaborHed.Company
AND LaborDtl.LaborHedSeq = LaborHed.LaborHedSeq
AND LaborDtl.PayrollDate >= 01/31/2005
AND LaborDtl.PayrollDate <= 01/31/2005 no-lock
BY LaborHed.EmployeeNum:

Pardon me but although I am not a query expert (and it's early too boot) I can't see a link between LaborHead.EmployeeNum and EmpBasic.EmpID. Shouldn't there be an "and" for this after the EmpBasic to LaborHead link on company? Otherwise I think this would invalidate some of the other linking (due to getting every employee) on some of the other "ands". Just a "one coffee short" hunch.

You are reading Every EmpBasic record for each LaborHead.
Add additional join fields like "and LaborHed.EmployeeNum =
EmpBasic.EmpID"
Also your looking at all dates greater than or equal to 01/31/2005 and less
than and equal to 01/31/2005. You range would be for all records?

This might be a dumb question - but did you run the "Employee Results Link"
before trying to run this?
